Justin Thomas: biography

Born to the family of experienced athletes, Thomas found his life vocation – golf – being a child. Since the start of his career, the sportsman has earned a dozen of precious titles and won lots of competitions. Read the article to know the details of Thomas’ biography!

Childhood and youth

His birthplace is Kentucky. He was brought up in the family of Mike Thomas, a prominent sportsman in the past. He transmitted the love for the sport to Justin and encouraged him for reaching high results when he was an infant.

Interestingly, Justin’s mother has never supported his occupation. The woman wanted him to be a writer or an artist. She herself is keen on traveling – she often visits other countries with her son.

Sport is in Thomas’ blood – not only his dad played golf in the past. His grandfather also devoted his life to this kind of sport.

2011 is the year of his graduation from school.

He carried on playing golf as a college student. He took part in various contests with the University of Alabama squad and brought his educational establishment precious titles and awards.

In 2013 the sportsman began playing golf professionally. That year he entered a specialized training camp and was given a tour card. In 2014 he took part in American Kid’s Competition. The year 2015 brought him his debut PGA Tour victory. In 2016 he became a winner of the tour again, proving his professionality one more time. The same year, Thomas was a contestant of the Canadian Open Tournament. Performing there, he finished with rounds of 62, 63 and 63 and got the title of a winner.

The year 2017 was marked by Thomas’ participation in the United States Open where he established a record of 65 amongst other various records. As for his results, the player got to the ninth position. Later that year Justin Thomas became a winner of the PGA Tournament.

In autumn 2017, the sportsman got the title of a winner of the CJ Cup held in South Korea. Remarkably, it is his 8th career victory.

At the beginning of 2018, Thomas took part in the PGA tour again and won it one more time. The next competition Thomas participated in – Mexico Tournament – happened to be unsuccessful one for the player. So, he was defeated by Phil Mickelson. However, he still held the second position in the international rankings.

In spring he appeared at the Match Play believing in a win and in advancing to the top of the chart. However, he lost to Bubba Watson and left the competition in its semi-finals.

Thomas succeeded to be named the best golfer worldwide after defeating opposers at the Players Tournament in 2018. Later that year he joined American National Team to represent his motherland in the Ryder Cup.

In January 2019, he won the Genesis Open. According to some sources, the player is currently thinking of becoming a free agent.

Personal life

As for Justin Thomas’ private life, he has a girlfriend named Jillian Wisniewski. They started their relationship in 2016. Although the two appear in public together very rarely, the woman has always been a source of inspiration for the sportsman, as he has shared with journalists once. Some people think she will become Thomas’ wife soon.

Speaking about Jillian, she has a bachelor’s degree in journalism.

The sportsman has no children.

In 2016 he uploaded a video on YouTube demonstrating his excellent skills in swinging from down the line. More than 400,000 people have watched the video.
