    Cynthia Erivo is a talented actress and singer with one of the most beautiful and strong voices. She is best known for her starring role as Celie in the Broadway revival of musical The Color Purple.

    Childhood and youth

    Speaking of the background of the singer, her parents were Nigerian, but she was born in Stockwell, South London. During her college years, Cynthia got an education at La Retraite Roman Catholic Girls' School. After finishing school, she started to study music psychology, then, a year later, she continued her studies at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She was a very bright girl who impressed everybody with her powerful voice.

    The career of Cynthia has begun after she got acting roles in British TV programs: Chewing Gum and The Tunnel. The critics highly praised her performances, and she was offered the first stage role in Marine Parade. Her popularity continued to rise and she performed in her first musical role at Theatre Royal Stratford East.
