David Njoku: biography

David Njoku who was born on July 10, 1996 is an American professional football player of Nigerian descent. Since 2017, he has been playing as a tight end for the Cleveland Browns team. Before that, David played college football for the Miami Hurricanes team.

Childhood and youth

The football star was born and raised in Cedar Grove, New Jersey. His parents, Innocent and Stella, immigrated to the United States from Nigeria. David has 8 siblings. His younger brother, Evidence, is a Miami Hurricanes wide receiver. David's other brother graduated from medical school at Cornell and is working as a neurosurgeon in New York. Many of Njoku's family members still reside in Nigeria, and he frequently travels there to visit them. David believes it's important to remember where you came from and stay connected to your culture.

Football career

The future NFL star was so successful in playing high school football that he received offers from colleges in Massachusetts, Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania. David decided to commit to the University of Miami, where he joined the Miami Hurricanes team.

After playing for the Miami Hurricanes for two years, Njoku decided to enter the 2017 NFL Draft, where he was one of the top-rated prospects in his position. During the first round, David was selected by the Cleveland Browns team and signed a four-year contract. In 2022, David became the Cleveland Browns' №1 tight end after the team decided to release their free agent Austin Hooper.

In October 2022, the player suffered an ankle injury, but is recovering fast.
