Childhood and youth

Bobby Wagner was born on June 27, 1990, in Los Angeles, California. He grew up in Ontario, California, and attended Colony High School, where he played football as a linebacker and running back. In his senior year, he recorded 125 tackles, two sacks, and two interceptions, earning him All-League and All-Inland Valley honors. Despite receiving only one scholarship offer, Wagner attended Utah State University, where he became a standout player on the football team and earned first-team All-WAC honors in his junior and senior years.

Football career

Wagner began his football career at Colony High School in Ontario, California, where he played as a linebacker and tight end. He was named the league's defensive MVP as a senior and earned first-team All-Inland Valley honors. Despite his high school success, Wagner was not heavily recruited and only received scholarship offers from Utah State and New Mexico State. He ultimately chose Utah State.

At Utah State, Wagner became a dominant force on defense. He started all 42 games during his college career and was a three-time first-team All-WAC selection. He finished his college career with 445 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and 4 interceptions. Wagner's impressive college career caught the attention of NFL scouts, and he was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft.

In his rookie season with the Seahawks, Wagner started all 16 games and recorded 140 tackles, which was the second-most by a rookie in Seahawks history.
