Childhood and youth

Hamlin was born on March 24, 1998, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He attended Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, where he quickly established himself as a standout player. As a senior, he was named the Pennsylvania Class AAAA Defensive Player of the Year and helped lead his team to a state championship. Hamlin was highly recruited out of high school and ultimately chose to play college football at the University of Pittsburgh, which was also in his hometown. Football career
