Childhood and youth

Sergio Romo was born on March 4, 1983, in Brawley, California, to Mexican immigrant parents. He grew up in a tight-knit family and was the youngest of three siblings. Although he appeared in 17 games for the team, his performance was lackluster, resulting in a subpar 8.16 ERA and only 11 strikeouts in 14.1 innings pitched. Consequently, Romo was designated for assignment on June 20 and subsequently released on June 22.

Later, on June 29,2022 Sergio Romo joined the Toronto Blue Jays signing a one-year deal worth $700K. However, his stint with the team was short-lived as he was designated for assignment on July 16, 2022, only a few weeks after joining the team. He was subsequently outrighted to the Buffalo Bisons on July 20, 2022, but chose to become a free agent on the same day.

Sergio Romo joined the Acereros de Monclova of the Mexican League on August 1, 2022, after signing a contract with the team.
