Nick Nurse is a professional basketball coach currently serving as the head coach of the Toronto Raptors in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Nick Nurse was a college basketball player for the Northern Iowa Panthers. Later on, he played professionally with the Derby Rams in the British Basketball League.

Childhood and youth

Nick Nurse was born on July 24, 1967, in Carroll, Iowa, USA. He grew up in a small town in Iowa called Kuemper, where he was raised by his parents, Marcella and Pete Nurse. Pete was a basketball coach at Kuemper High School, and Nick grew up around the game, often tagging along to practices and games with his father.
