The most beautiful man of the world and the "Agent 007" Pierce Brosnan has conquered the millions of the female hearts and became a standard for the strong men who know the sense and the taste of life. The American actor of Irish origin has reached the peaks of success: he has a personal star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, respect of his colleagues, a strong family, and a multimillion fortune.

Pierce Brendan Brosnan was born in May 1953 in the port Irish town of Drogheda that is situated in 56 kilometers from Dublin. The childhood of future James Bond can't be called happy. His father, the carpenter in his specialty, left the family when Pierce wasn't even one year old. Pierce's mother at once went to London where she got a job at the hospital. Her son remained in the care of his grandmother and grandfather in the city of Navan: Brosnan considers this place to be his native town.

When his grandfather and grandmother died, Pierce Brosnan was living for some time in the family of his aunt. But soon the boy got to the board at the Roman-Catholic church where he attended school and served at a church altar. The Boarders were subjected to corporal punishments and were brought up in severity and asceticism.

His mother took her son away from the church school when he was 11 years old. At that time May Smith had already settled her private life and got married for the second time. The young man worked as a designer, as a barker and undertook any work. Pierce Brosnan decided to become an actor of the theater and cinema after a visit to the vanguard drama school. Pierce left the department store and entered Drama Centre School. In his free time, he had to earn his living by the washing of dishes in the cafe, cleaning and food delivery. The guy even worked as a sidekick worker at the factory.

The creative biography of Pierce Brosnan started from the stage of York Theatre Royal. The young actor was noticed by the famous playwright Tennessee Williams and was invited to play a role of McCabe in the play "The Red Devil Battery Sign".

In 1977 the actor brilliantly played Franco Zeffirelli in the movie "Filumena". But the name of Brosnan was known to a narrow circle of theater-goers only. The recognition had come to the actor in the early eighties when the audience had seen him in mini-series "Manions of America". Right after the release of this mini-series another one came out – it was "Nancy Astor". For this role, Pierce Brosnan received his first – the nomination for the Golden Globe Awards.

During the shootings of the movie "For Your Eyes Only" the actress Cassandra Harris acquainted her young colleague with the producer of the project about James Bond - Albert Broccoli who showed his willingness to make Brosnan the next "agent 007". Broccoli managed to carry out his plans in summer of 1994. Pierce signed the contract with the eminent producer for his participation in three pictures at once.

For the first time, Pierce Brosnan appeared as a character of James Bond in 1995. This year the first picture under the title "GoldenEye" was released. The blockbuster grossed $350 million. In 1997 the second picture of "Bondiana" under the title "Tomorrow Never Dies" came out on the screen. Two years later the third picture – "The World Is Not Enough" was released. Despite controversial reviews of film critics, the third movie collected $361 million in the world hire, and Brosnan was recognized as the best James Bond and the new Hollywood star.

In 2002 Pierce Brosnan took part in the fourth picture of "Bondiana" under the title "Die Another Day". It is the last picture about the "agent 007" with actor’s participation. He was dissatisfied with this work, and he rejected the following offers to act as James Bond.

The film critics considered Brosnan's appearance in the musical picture "Mamma Mia!" unsuccessful: for this work the actor was handed the Golden Raspberry anti-award. But in 2009 Pierce Brosnan managed to redeem himself: the picture "The Ghost Writer" directed by Roman Polanski brought to the actor the prize of the Berlin Film Festival. In 2012 the Hollywood star appeared in the comedy melodrama by Danish director Susanne Bier "Love Is All You Need". Brosnan together with the Danish actress and the singer Trine Dyrholm played the loving couple. Next year Pierce participated in two comedy films – "The World’s End" and "The Love Punch". The last film was shot by Joel Hopkins. Emma Thompson played together with Brosnan on the shooting stage of this movie.

In 2014 Pierce Brosnan's admirers saw their idol in the American spy thriller under the title "The November Man" where he appeared together with Olga Kurylenko and Luke Bracey in the leading roles. In Russia, the picture came out on the screen in September 2014. The same year the actor played in the comedy melodrama by Tom Vaughan "How to Make Love Like an Englishman". The director gathered together the Hollywood stars on the shooting stage: Salma Hayek and Jessica Alba acted in this movie together with Pierce Brosnan.

In August 2015 the fighter "No Escape" was released, where Brosnan got a supporting role. In Russia, this movie came out on the screen in October.

Pierce Brosnan is the owner of the Order of the British Empire. This award was presented to him by Queen Elizabeth II in 2003, she noted the contribution of the compatriot to the film industry of Great Britain. The actor has his personal star under the number of 7083 on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Personal life

Two-thirds of Pierce Brosnan’s admirers are women. There is nothing to be surprised of: the actor is as handsome as Apollo. In 1977 the Irish actor got acquainted during the shootings with his future spouse – Australian actress Cassandra Harris. In 1980 Pierce and Cassandra got married and moved to Wimbledon. Harris already had two children born in the previous marriage – the daughter Charlotte and the son Christopher. In 1983 the firstborn Sean was born at the couple.

Happy personal life of the actors came to an end that day when it became known of the fatal disease of Cassandra. The actress was diagnosed with the oncological disease. The woman died in 1991.

In 3 years Pierce Brosnan managed to recover from this tragedy. In 1994 during the trip to Mexico, he got acquainted with the journalist from the USA - Keely Shaye Smith. Three years later their son Dylan Thomas was born. In 2001 the couple officially registered their relations. The same year they gave birth to their second son – Paris Becket. The family lives in California.

In 2012 Brosnan bought a land in Malibu and began to build a "clever house", having planned $35 million for the construction of this ecological masterpiece. The roof of the environmentalist's house was decorated with solar batteries which provide the house with energy. The closed system of water supply purifies water, and the waste-processing device utilizes garbage and prevents environmental pollution.

Pierce Brosnan has a dual citizenship. In 2004 the actor got the citizenship of the USA, but at the same time, he keeps the citizenship of Ireland.

For autumn of 2017, there was set for the release of the British-Chinese fighter "The Foreigner" which was based on the book "Chinese" written by Stephen Leather. In the movie, it is told about the veteran of the Vietnamese war who had lost his family. His character was played by Jackie Chan. Pierce Brosnan got the role of Liam Hennessy.
