Post Malone: biography
The American hip-hop singer Post Malone has become popular after his debuting single “White Iverson” came out; this hit blew music charts. The artist’s vocal is laconic, and his music is the fusion of hip-hop, grunge, and country. The man’s image is unusual for a rapper which attracts even more attention to him.
Childhood and youth
Austin Richard Post was born in summer 1995 in Syracuse, New York, and lived in that city until nine. The father and the stepmother brought up the boy; Post never knew his biological mother. The parents did everything to make their kid feel comfortable; his childhood was happy. Little Austin was familiar with many music genres including rock, country, hip-hop, and so on.
When the boy was nine, the Posts moved to Grapevine: the boy’s father had a good job offer and began to work as a manager of concessions for the Dallas Cowboys. Austin kept polishing his musical skills; he learned how to play the guitar quickly and decided to go to the auditions. At that time, Crown the Empire was looking for new musicians. When Post was performing, the string of his guitar suddenly broke. This accident was treated as the failure. Still, the negative experience did not cool Austin’s desire to work on music. He had taken fancy in playing the guitar thanks to the computer game Guitar Hero, and nothing could weaken his love of the instrument.
The beginning musician received the first stage experience when he performed with some heavy metal group; at that time, he was a school student and frequented concerts. Post realized that genre was not his cup of tea. In a while, he took fancy in hip-hop.
The 16-year-old young man was exploring the new genre and recorded the debuting mixtape; he gave it to his classmates. The track spread over the school; everybody knew about Austin’s talent. Many people believed the young man would make a wonderful singer and become a star. The young musician continued to record tracks in a studio. When he graduated from school, he entered the university but dropped soon and moved to Los Angeles.
When Post Malone settled in California, he, his friend Jason Stokes, and other artists and producers created the group BLCKVRD. They created and released several songs together. At that period, the young musician enjoyed the first musical achievements.
To make the collaboration more comfortable, Post and other group members moved to the house in San Fernando, California. Soon, he met the group FKi3; later, they recorded the duo tracks including “White Iverson.” This 2015 hit made Austin popular: his name appeared in charts, and more and more people were discovering his music for themselves.
Six months later, the music video for “White Iverson” came out; it gained several million views. Naturally, record companies could not ignore such a promising artist. In summer 2015, the young man signed his first contract with Republic Records.
The cooperation with the company brought new people; Post Malone had the chance to collaborate with 50 Cent, Kanye West, and other popular musicians. Later, the rapper met Justin Bieber; the young people found the common language quickly and communicated a lot. Justin invited his friend to participate in the world tour.
In April 2016, Post Malone presented the new song “Go Flex” and debuted with it on the national television.
Simultaneously, the man recorded the mixtape August 26 that promoted the singer’s upcoming first album. In August 2016, Post Malone apologized and announced the album Stoney would be postponed until December 9. Many professionals worked on this album; Justin Bieber, Kehlani, and other artists contributed to the project. Stoney began from number six in the American music chart and reached number four soon. The album became platinum twice.
Post Malone’s career was flourishing. The 2017 song “Rockstar” topped Billboard Hot 100 and strengthened his positions in the world of show-business. The 2018 track “Psycho” became another great hit.
In 2018, Post Malone had the second album Beerbongs & Bentleys released; “Better Now” became one of the most popular songs. It took the rapper a short time to gain the audience’s and other musicians’ favor. There were several remixes on Austin’s works; fans appreciate them as well.
There is little information about the young man’s personal life. He has no wife or children. According to some Internet data, he has an affair with a young woman whose name is Ashley; they allegedly met when Ashley arranged the musician’s performance at a party. Post Malone does not show the relationship: no photos on Instagram or comments about who his girlfriend is. Thus, nobody knows for sure if the couple is still together.
The musician’s fans are interested in his tattoos. To create his image, Post Malone did not hesitate to have many of them done, just like the majority of rappers. The picture of Lil Peep who had recently died became one of the first tattoos. Post Malone also published a Twitter post in memory of the deceased colleague.
The tattoo with the words “always” and “tired” under the man’s eyes was widely discussed among fans. It was not Austin’s first facial tattoo: he had already had a Playboy Bunny under his eye, a word tattoo under the eyebrow, and a razor wire that reminded of the crown of thorns.
The rapper continues to develop his career and does not limit himself with tracks. He regularly performs in the United States as well as other countries and participates in various projects.
In October 2018, Post Malone and Swae Lee created the music video for the animated movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse; the musician uploaded this work to his YouTube channel.
Despite his busy schedule and intensive studio work, Austin pays attention to his physical form; the man’s height is 188 cm., and his weight is 82 kg.
