Matt Lanter is an American actor who became famous after playing in the political drama Commander In Chief, as well as after joining the cast of the youth television series 90210, the spin-off of the acclaimed 1990 TV series Beverly Hills, 90210.

But fans know very well Matt Lanter's voice roles because for seven years the actor was the voice of Anakin Skywalker in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Lanter also considers this role to be one of the most significant in his career, and on his Instagram account, he even calls himself Jedi (the mystical order in the Star Wars universe), the name of his hero in the series.

American actor Matt Lanter was born on April 1, 1983, in a small town in Ohio.

When he was eight years old, his family moved to Atlanta. There, the boy became interested in football and golf, but his real passion was baseball. Matt Lanter was so mad about this game that he did not miss a single match of the local baseball club. He was honored to bring bits to team members, which is the right many fans were striving for.

The love of sports helped Matt overcome his parents' divorce. The guy was in good physical shape, and school gymnastics and basketball teams invited him. After graduation, Matt thought about his future sports career, though he wanted to become a manager. In 2006, Lanter already got a voice role in the full-length animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars distributed by Warner Bros Studio, but the film premiered only in 2008. The plot of the animated series is based on the events of the great universe of George Lucas and tells about the time interval between the second and third episodes of the legendary Star Wars saga. The producer of the project was also George Lucas, and the plot of the cartoon was included in the Star Wars expanded universe.

The film received negative reviews from critics, but at the same time grossed a lot at the box office. Matt Lanter voiced the title character, young Jedi Anakin Skywalker, a hero whose strength was enough to decide the fate of the universe.

In 2009, the actor starred in the movie Sorority Row, but it also was not successful. But the grosses of the movie Vampires Suck exceeded four times its budget. Vampires Suck is a parody of the popular Twilight saga, in which Lanter appeared as Edward Sullen, a parody of the title character. The couple dated for more than three years, and in the summer of 2012, Matt made Angela a marriage proposal. Soon they celebrated their marriage.

Nowadays the couple lives in Los Angeles. Matt and Angela do not have children. They regularly appear in public together. Judging by their facial expressions, they are happy together.

The film is based on the true story and tells about the crew of the ship Indianapolis, which was torpedoed and drowned during the Second World War. The cruiser sank in 12 minutes, but for four days the crew of the ship was left at sea waiting for help. Matt Lanter got the role of Chief Petty Officer Brian Smithwick. Nicolas Cage portrayed the captain. The film received extremely negative reviews from viewers.

In 2016, the actor also got a leading role in the fantasy series Timeless. Lanter’s hero is Master Sergeant Wyatt Logan of the Delta Force operative. Together with two scientists, Wyatt joins a special team that is sent back in time to prevent a terrorist who stole a time machine from destroying the United States.

At first, it was announced that the series would be closed after the first season, but Timeless received positive reviews from critics, and it was renewed for the second season, which premiered in March 2018.

In 2017, the actor played a bit part in the musical comedy Pitch Perfect 3, telling about the fate of the female student band. In the third film, the participants have graduated from college, hated their jobs and gladly accepted the idea of the reunion.
