    Eugene Cyril "Geno" Smith III, who was born on the 10th of October, 1990, and who is simply known as Geno Smith, is a popular American football quarterback. Currently, he is playing for the Seattle Seahawks (NFL) under the number 7. He is of American nationality and African-American ethnicity.

    Childhood and youth

    The future football star was born in Lakemont, a city that is located in Georgia. His dad's name is Eugene Smith Jr., and his mom's name is Tracey Seller. He started playing football in early childhood because his relatives were also football players. Eugene got his nickname, "Geno," after his grandfather, who was known in his family as Big Geno.

    The New York Jets

    On August 9, 2013, Eugene made his professional debut. He faced off there against several teams, including the Pittsburgh Steelers, Atlanta Falcons, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Detroit Lions, and more. He finished his debut season with 3,046 yards, 12 touchdowns, and 21 interceptions.

    New York Giants

    Eugene signed a contract with the New York Giants on March 28, 2017. He replaced Eli Manning late in the fourth quarter of Week 9 against the Los Angeles Rams on November 5, 2017. Eugene completed just two passes, as the Giants fell short (17-51).

    Los Angeles Chargers

    He agreed to a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Chargers on April 1, 2018. Eugene made his Chargers debut in Week 6, catching one ball for eight yards as the Chargers defeated the Cleveland Browns 38-14. He played in five relief roles overall throughout the 2018 season.

    Seattle Seahawks

    On May 15, 2019, Eugene committed to the Seattle Seahawks. He and Paxton Lynch battled it out to be Russell Wilson's backup. Along with Lynch, he was dismissed on August 31, 2019, but the following day he was re-signed, securing the backup position. During his first year with the squad, Eugene did not participate in any games. On April 19, 2022, the Seahawks re-signed Smith, but the NFL disallowed his new deal the next day after carrying out the required review.
