    Edie Brickell, 53-year singer and songwriter made her first footsteps on the world of showbusiness with the music band New Bohemians. After working with the collective for several years, Brickell began creating solo projects – one of them was her successful album Volcano coming out in 2003.     Edie Brickell’s birthplace is Texas – he was brought up in the family of Paul and his wife, Larry. Edie was not bored while growing up – he has a sister Laura Strain.     While studying at a high school, Brickell had a close pal who introduced her to the world of music. So, once in 1985 that girl, a member of the music collective named New Bohemians, offered Edie perform with the band at a local pub. The latter liked that friendly musical atmosphere and joined the band to serve there as a lead singer and write lyrics. Shortly after, the group concluded a contract with a recording company, and it was renamed to Edie Brickell & New Bohemians. 1988 brought the musicians their first collection entitled ‘Shooting Rubberbands at the Stars.’ It happened to be an enormous success – and fans especially liked its track ‘What I Am.’ Two years later, the group dropped one more album under the name ‘Ghost of a Dog’, including the song ‘Black And Blue.’

    The next group’s biggest hit was published only in 2006 – it was the album ‘Stranger Things.’

    Solo career

    In 1989 fans could see Edie Brickell acting in the picture Born on the Fourth of July – she portrayed there a folk musician and sang ‘A Hard Rain's a-Gonna Fall’ by Bob Dylan as the movie’s soundtrack. In 1990 Brickell performed with the track ‘Walk on the Wild Side’ starring in the movie Flashback.

    Speaking about her solo projects, in 1994 she dropped her first collection ‘Picture Perfect Morning.’ In 2003 she added the album ‘Volcano’ to the list of her works. 1992 brought Brickell a collaboration with Bob Wiseman. However, their singles have not been released as the recording firm denied to produce it.

    The Gaddabouts

    In 2010 the singer joined the music collective The Gaddabouts. It consisted of 8 members, apart from her. The following year, Edie created one of her best songs ‘The Meaning of Life’ which advanced to the top of the Billboard chart.

    In 2013 the singer began working alongside Steve Martin. The two published their first project ‘Love Has Come for You’ in spring of the same year. As a promotion of the collection, they visited various TV programs and embarked on a tour around America.
