Childhood and youth

Danny Masterson's motherland is New York – he was born there to the family of Peter and his wife, Carol. Although his parents were not very rich, they have never had serious financial problems – his dad worked in the industry of insurance while his mom was a manager at a tour firm.

Danny was brought up alongside a brother named Christopher and a sister Alanna. Danny's mother noticed his acting talent and sent him to take part in casting for featuring on a magazine's cover. He passed the competition well and was later seen on pages of a local fashion magazine.

At the age of 5, Masterson appeared in various commercials – by the moment he turned 17, the celebrity had starred in more than 110 ones. Besides, he attended drama classes alongside his sibling and performed at theatres in his district. As it is usually the case, when Masterson entered adolescence, he lost his singing voice, and he had to neglect the idea of developing in music.

Acting career

The beginning of the 1990s is thought to be the start of Masterson's career. So, around that time he got roles in such pictures as Beethoven's 2nd and Cybill. He left the latter after starring there for four seasons. Then, he intended to enter the cast of That '70s Show.

Interestingly, initially, the program's directors prohibited the celebrity from taking part in casting because of his age – Masterson was pretty older than other actors. However, shortly after, the directors changed their mind, and Masterson successfully passed the audition. Having impressed producers by his talent, Danny got the role in the show. Fans could see the celebrity in all its seasons. Generally, this period of time is a real breakthrough in Masterson's career – he got lots of fans, received positive critical acclaim, and has been nominated for several awards.

After the star left the program, he went to appear on such programs as MADtv and Punk'd. 1999 was marked by his appearance on Woodstock.

Later, in 2008 and 2009 he added the pictures Yes Man and The Bridge to Nowhere to his filmography.

In 2011 Masterson was among actors of the series White Collar. The same year, he was cast of The Chicago 8 – the picture based on real events. It was shot in autumn of 2009.

2012 was marked by Masterson's appearance in the series entitled Men At Work and in the picture named Alter Egos. Around that time, he also played in the comedy The Ranch alongside Ashton Kutcher.

Danny Masterson is not alone – he has a wife named Bijou Phillips. The two began their relationship in 2006. Three years later, the partners got engaged and tied the knot in 2011. In 2014 the spouses welcomed their first kid – a daughter named Fianna. Once in an interview Danny said the girl had asked her parents for ‘a sister’. The news evoked rumors that Bijou would soon get pregnant.

In 2017 the actor was mixed up with a sex scandal – several women (including Bobette Riales and Leah Remini) referred to police accusing him of sexual assault. As a result, his home was investigated, and Danny himself was interrogated. No proof was discovered, and the allegations were dropped. However, the situation affected Masterson's career – he was fired from The Ranch. Cedric Bixler-Zavala has criticized the company for this measure.
