Aaron Ashmore: biography

The talented actor has a long TV career and extensive experience in acting. He appeared on 70 movies and different genres – drama, thriller, crime, comedy, and soup. Today he is a successful actor and producer whose roles made him famous all over the world.

Childhood and youth

The actor was born in the family of homemaker and manufacturing engineer. Aaron is Canadian; he was raised in Ontario. The actor has a twin brother. When the brothers were ten years old, their talents were discovered by a talent agent; they started appearing in commercials. His brother, Shawn, had a more successful career and was one step further Aaron. Thus at the age of 12, Aaron was going to cast in a commercial but fell ill, and his twin brother changed him.

The actor says that he and his twin brother were always together; they had the same friends, visited parties, took all the same classes.

Movie career

At the beginning of his career, the actor frequently appeared o various commercials and acted on small screens. His TV career started from "Gross Misconduct: The Life of Brian Spencer" in 1993. After that role, he made some cameos, "Due South" and "Emily of New Moon" among them. In 2001 the actor got his first significant feature movie role in the drama "The Safety of Objects." After this movie, he made some cameos and had a recurring role in "Veronica Mars." The serial Smallville brought the wide actor popularity where he played a famous comic character, Jimmy Olsen. In one interview he told about his role, that Jimmy was an ordinary guy, and that made him attractive in some way. Though superpowers could spoil Jimmy, Aaron would be glad if his character had some superpower.

In 2004 the actor played the significant role in the drama "My Brother's Keeper" and also appeared on "Prom Queen: The Marc Hall Story" where he played non-conforming individual who claimed his rights. Aaron got some significant roles in Canadian horror films. In 2014 he was an actor and executive producer of the movie "I Put a Hit on You."

Though he and his twin brother were often mixed at High school, their talent was more identical. The brothers play different roles, as Aaron says Shawn is always a good guy on the screen while Aaron is the jock or the jerk. When they become older, Aaron and Shawn's resemblance was becoming less. The most popular role of Shawn is the role in the movie "Cadet Kelly".

Personal life

The actor has a tattoo "GMA" – Good Man Ashmore.

His wife if Zoe Kate. They were married on June 14 in 2014, and the twosome has two daughters. Aaron is active on social networks where he shares his events. Thus in 2014, he published on Twitter that he was getting married and loved his future wife. He became a father for the first time in 2016.
