Childhood and youth

Tyreek was born on March 1, 1994, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Later his family (which consisted of mother Anesha Sanchez and father Derrick Shaw) moved to Georgia where he studied at Coffee High School. Being a student, he was already interested in the sport: so, he won both the 100 meters and 200 meters at the 2012 Georgia 5A state meet. The player is purely American – his parents were natives of Pearson, Georgia.

In 2012 Hill took part in the 36th Golden South Classic in Orlando, Florida. So, in the game held on May 26, he scored a new season-best in the 100 m (10.19 s) and a PR in the 200 m (20.14 s). It was the fastest season result for a junior athlete. The previous time the record was set by Ramil Guliyev in 2009.

Tyreek was subsequently called “High School Athlete of the Year” in 2012 by Track and Field News.

Hill was also a USA Today All-American track and field selection in 2012.

College football career

Having graduated from High School, the sportsman got an education at Garden City Community College where he ran track and was the football team's member. In his sophomore year (2013) Tyreek ran for 659 rushing yards and five touchdowns and caught 67 passes for 532 receiving yards for the Broncbusters football club – almost the best college stats ever.

Later Tyreek became Oklahoma State University's student. Studying there, he performed for the Cowboys in local championships. So, his debut game was on August 13, 2014. Then, in the match with the Florida State Seminoles, the player succeeded to catch a season-high six passes for 62-receiving yards.

Almost 2 months later, on September 25, Tyreek made his first touchdown fighting against the Texas Tech Red Raiders and led the team to the victory with three receptions for 50-yards, six rushing attempts for 39-yards, and three kick returns for a total of 62-yards. In the next game, Tyree's team faced the Iowa State Cyclones, and the player made a season-high 148 kick-return yards. On November 11, performing against the Kansas State Wildcats, Hill showed the high result of 102 rushing yards on 18 attempts and recorded his first rushing touchdown.

On December 6, he returned a punt for a 92-yard touchdown and gifted his team victory over the Oklahoma Sooners.

That time Hill had some problems with the law: he was arrested for domestic violence. As a result, on December 11, Oklahoma fired him. So, in total, in his season with the team, Tyreek managed to score 102 rushing attempts for 534 rushing yards and one touchdown, 31 receptions for 381 receiving yards and a touchdown.

He held the 11th place in all-purpose yards.

Hill started the next studying year at the University of West Alabama. There he joined the Tigers. Interestingly, that West Alabama head coach Brett Gilliland had previously been afraid of Tyreek because of his arrest. To make sure it was safe to enroll this player he spoke to people at Oklahoma State, Hill's former coaches at Garden City Community College, and a high school mentor and was confirmed everything was okay.

On the field, Tyreek showed his professionality: he used running back (25 carries for 237 yards and one touchdown), wide receiver, punt returner and kick returner.

Totally, in his 11 games for the team, he has never made more than 10 yards.

Professional career

Tyreek wanted to apply for the 2016 NFL Draft but had problems with it. So, he took part in West Alabama's Pro Day event. The spectators were mainly impressed by his speed and workout: his 40-yard dash time grabbed plenty of attention. Unfortunately, the player was removed entirely from many draft boards because of the prejudices, but his head coach claimed at least 20 teams to have been interested in him.

At last, The Kansas City Chiefs selected him and were subsequently criticized by fans. However, the team said that they had investigated all the information about Tyreek and were sure about buying him. On May 17, 2016, Hill signed a 4-year $2.58 million contract including $100,000 guaranteed and a signing bonus of $70,000.

In the season Hill played as a starting punt returner, kick returner, and their fourth wide receiver. In the winning match against the San Diego Chargers, Tyreek scored his first career catch for a nine-yard touchdown.

In October, performing against the Indianapolis Colts, Tyreek made five passes for a season-high 98 receiving yards and a touchdown. The match took part at Lucas Oil Stadium. The next game with the Carolina Panthers brought Hill a season-high ten catches for 89 receiving yards.

Hill's velocity in the match held on November 27, 2016, was 22.77 miles per hour (36.64 km/h) – the fastest one in the NFL history. His speed was called the Olympics speed.

On December 8, 2016, Tyreek caught six receptions for 66 yards and recorded a 36-yard touchdown reception what let his team defeat the opposers with the score 21-13.

While fighting with the Denver Broncos, the player had a season-high six carries for 95 rushing yards and scored a 70-yard rushing touchdown. The match was successful: Hill's club won with the score 33–10. As a result, their fans chanted Hill's name.

Due to him, the Chiefs got to the finals and beat there the San Diego Chargers with the score 37-27.

Hill closed his first NFL season with 61 receptions for 593 receiving yards and six touchdowns, 24 carries for 267 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns, 14 kick returns for a total of 384 yards and a touchdown. He performed in 16 matches.

In 2017 he was called a return specialist. The player held the 36th place on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2017.

The next season started for Tyreek on September 7, 2017: the Chiefs faced the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots. Hill scored with a career-high 133 receiving yards on seven receptions, which included a 75-yard reception for a touchdown leading Kansas to the victory.

On Week 5, they fought with the Houston Texas - he made 82-yard punt return touchdown.

Later, on November 5, the team faced the Dallas Cowboys. Hill recorded a 56-yard touchdown pass.

In 13 matches against the New York Jets, Hill scored 185 receiving yards on six receptions and two touchdowns.

On December 19, 2017, he got the title of a return specialist again. His total season stats included 75 receptions for 1,183 receiving yards and seven receiving touchdowns. The team's season record was 10-6, they got to the playoff where the Tennessee Titans defeated them with the score 22-21.

Due to the stats, Hill held the 40th place on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2018.

Playing the first week of the new season with the Chargers, Hill returned his first touch—a punt—91 yards for a touchdown. The Chiefs won with the score 38-28 due to his 169 receiving yards. In one of the games, Tyreek managed to record three goals.

The next week Kansas faced the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Hill caught five passes for 90 yards.

The next three games happened to be unsuccessful, but the player showed his professionality again fighting against the New England Patriots in Week 6. He made 142 receiving yards and three touchdowns and got an unexpected surprise: one of Patriots fans threw beer at him. The process was recorded on the video so that judges could determine who this person was and ban him for future matches. Fortunately, Hill didn't get injured while receiving such a “present.”

Four weeks later, the Chiefs faced Arizona, and Hill shone: it was his third 100-yard receiving game, with seven receptions for 117 yards and two touchdowns.

In Week 11, Hill's team fought against the Los Angeles Rams. Tyreek happened to record 10 catches for a career-high 215 yards and two touchdowns, but the team lost. In the season, the sportsman made 87 receptions for 1,479 yards and 12 touchdowns.

In the winning Divisional Round against the Indianapolis Colts, he had eight receptions for 72 rushing yards to go along with a 36-yard rushing touchdown.

Tyreek also took part in the AFC Championship where he made a single reception for 42 yards fighting against the New England Patriots.

Tyreek's current salary is $1,965,036, while his net worth is evaluated at $13 million.

Personal life

In 2018, Tyreek and Espinal Crystal became engaged. They met in 2014, and Espinal gave birth to their son Zev Carter in July 2015.

Legal issues

Being his girlfriend, Espinal suffered domestic violence. So, it happened in December 2014. One day the woman got a text message where someone said Tyreek had been cheating on her. After seeing that message, as the news said, Tyreek threw her phone, hit her in the face, choked her and punched her in the stomach.

He eventually pleaded guilty to the battery by strangulation and domestic assault, was sentenced to three years of probation, and was told to undergo a domestic-abuse evaluation.

Today the couple lives together in harmony as if nothing had happened.

In his career, the player has been named several times as a return specialist, a best wide receiver and runner back. Also, Tyreek has always shown perfect stats. So, in all his played games he scored 3,255 receiving yards and 477 rushing yards.
