smokepurpp: biography
Omar Jeffery Pineiro (real name) is an American rapper and songwriter who is better known as Smokepurpp. He became noticeable in 2015 by releasing his track through the online audio distribution platform SoundCloud. Pineiro’s songs are often about drug use, life in tough neighborhoods, and desire for luxuries in life, and so on.

Early life
Pineiro was born in Chicago in 1997. Then, as a kid, he moved to Miami, Florida, with his family. Speaking about Omar's education, he had dropped out of his high school during the senior year, when he started gaining some success in rapping. There is no information about Omar’s family, maybe because the artist has always tried to run from his past and be a new man in a respected and wealthy position.
The young rapper has been inspired by such artists as Lil Wayne, Chief Keef, and Young Thug, since childhood. Then, he took the name Smokepurpp and started posting his own songs online when he was a student.
Career
Omar started his music career as a producer when he was still in high school. However, these attempts did not turn out well. Eventually, he ended up rapping over his own beats because Pineiro was not ready to give out his music for anyone else who could not appreciate it. By the way, Pineiro was that person who helped to get his friend Lil Pump into rapping. In one of his interviews, Omar tells how they recorded Pump's first single on a headphone microphone.
Rappers like XXXTentacion and Lil Pump have taken their sound to the mainstream by using the platform named SoundCloud. Smokepurpp is one of these artists, who are claimed to have organized SoundCloud revolution that redefined rap. In 2015, Pineiro uploaded his first track on SoundCloud but soon deleted it because of its bad quality.
Rather quickly, the artist released his second single called "Live Off A Lick" together with XXXTentacion who was also an American rapper and died last year. Pineiro has not only singles but also music videos. His debut first video, "It’s Nothin" featuring his cousin, Lil Ominous, was released in September 2014.
In March 2017, Smokepurpp announced about his first commercial mixtape “Deadstar” for which he had been inspired by punk rock artist GG Allin. Before “Deadstar," the artist signed contracts with Alamo Records and Interscope Records. Also that year, in May, Pineiro released his first commercial single, “Audi” that rather quickly gained over 25 million plays on SoundCloud.
In autumn, the rapper released “Deadstar” which debuted at no. 42 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The most famous singles are “Phantom” and “I Don't Know You." The mixtape also included Lil Pump, Chief Keef, Yo Gotti, Travis Scott, and others. Right after the release of “Deadstar," Smokepurpp signed the contract with Cactus Jack Records.
In November 2017, Pineiro announced on the MTV show Total Request Live about his upcoming mixtape titled “Bless Yo Trap." It was released in April 2018, and it was the collaboration between Smokepurpp and Canadian producer Murda Beatz. This mixtape also included guest appearances from Lil Yachty, Offset, and ASAP Ferg. “Bless Yo Trap” became no. 40 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart. Also that year, after Lil Peep’s death, there was a leaked single of him and Smokepurpp, "Nobody."
Besides albums, Smokepurpp has released a lot of singles, including “Move Around” feat. Big E (2016), “Phone” feat. NAV (2017), “Nephew” feat. Lil Pump (2018), etc. In his projects, we can highlight the most noticeable topics like drugs, poor life, aspiration for wealth, sexual attitude to women. For example, “By my lonely” lyrics, where the artist mentions the drug Xanax, the importance of his success, and so on.
Pineiro’s recent project, an extended play titled "Lost Planet," was released this year, in April. It features rappers like Gunna, Lil Pump, and NLE Choppa. In March 2018, in the interview with a music journalist John Ruskin (better known as Nardwuar), Smokepurpp announced his new project. It is a mixtape named "Sound of Space," and it is on the come up in the nearest future.
The 2019 year is really saturated for the artist. He has a great list of places where his concerts are going to be. In summer he will perform in U. S. and Canada (Toronto and Montreal). At the beginning of this year, Pineiro has already been in the Netherlands, some American States (for instance, in the famous House of Blues in Dallas), United Kingdom, Bulgaria, and Poland.
Smokepurpp has a net worth of $2 million which he gets from his profitable deals with record studios and releases of his singles.
Personal life
Pineiro has a rather narrow circle of friends. His best friend is Lil Pump, who has been his fellow since childhood. Recently, on the internet, there was a conflict between them. Pump claimed that he was the one who had opened SoundCloud and had introduced Pineiro to lots of people, and Omar wrote that he had been a producer for Pump’s recent track “Gucci Gang" and had not received any money for it.
Eventually, it turned out that these two were just messing around, and they had done it just for attention. So, Omar and Lil are not only close friends but also business partners. They spend a lot of time in the studio doing their joint projects. This long-terming friendship is great!

Another person who we'd like to mention is Trippie Redd, also a rapper. He has even worked together with Smokepurpp: in 2018, they released a track, "Crash." Redd has appeared in one of the episodes of the "Sneaker Shopping” series, where he showed off his sneaker tastes. The shoes that the rapper did not like the most were Hender Scheme's line of real leather remakes of popular sneaker silhouettes. When Redd put them on, he said that “This is Smokepurpp as a shoe," which is really difficult to understand in the right way. We suppose that this was not a compliment.
Speaking about Pineiro’s love life, there is no information. He has never announced about hi having any kind of serious relationships. Vice versa, artist’s songs are full of disrespect for women.
