G-Eazy is the stage name of the famous American rapper, a real legend for rap fans. This artist has proved that great talent has no barriers, and even an ordinary guy who grew up without a father has every chance to become a world star.

Childhood and youth

Gerald Earl Gillum is the real name of the singer. He was born on May 24, 1989. The rapper's hometown is Oakland, California. The childhood of the future star was not great. The parents of little Gerald divorced when he was barely eight. The boy stayed with his mother and then moved to Berkeley to grandparents who took care of their beloved grandson.

Gerald was not fond of music at school, but he suddenly became interested in composing during his student years. It is noteworthy that Gerald's uncle and aunt played in their own rock band, that, perhaps, also influenced the young man. In addition, the musician repeatedly said in an interview that he had learned a lot from The Beatles, which his mother adored.

A year later, in 2011, G-Eazy released the mixtape The Endless Summer. The collection featured other rappers and quickly became popular on the Internet, and Gerald Gillum gained more fame. In the autumn of the same year, the musician performed in cities across the U.S.

The first tour made the rapper a real star. They told about G-Eazy as a real breakthrough. The singer became a welcome guest of various festivals, concerts and club parties. Personal life

G-Eazy’s personal life causes even more gossip and discussion than his creative work, but Gerald Gillum managed to hide the details of love affairs from the public eye for a long time. The first known rapper's love affair was the relations with charming singer Lana Del Rei. It began in the spring of 2017. It seemed that the young people were a perfect couple, but, unfortunately, five months later they broke up. The details of the breakup remained a secret.

G-Eazy was not alone for a long time. A month after the breakup with Lana Del Rey, the musician's fans began discussing his photo with singer Halsey on Instagram and other social networks. Gerald even recorded with his lover a joint composition “Him & I,” and later, the young people officially announced their relationship.

In 2017, the musician pleased the fans with the EP Step Brothers. This album is notable because Gerald Gillum shot a small documentary video presentation of the album.
