Eva Longoria: biography

Eva Longoria is an American movie actress, producer, model and a designer. She has gained popularity due to the role of Gabrielle Solis in the TV series Desperate Housewives.

Eva Jacqueline Longoria was born in a Texas town - Corpus Christi in March 1975. The actress has Mexican origin. It’s known that Eva's ancestor who called Lorenzo Suárez de Longoria was born in the village of Longoria which belonged to the Spanish municipality of Belmonte de Miranda.

Eva Jacqueline was the youngest of four daughters of Longoria family. It’s noteworthy that Eva’s elder sisters - Elizabeth Judina, Emilie Jeannette and Esmeralda Josephina are blondes with blue eyes. That's why in early youth Eva Longoria doubted that she was the daughter of her parents and not an adopted one. She thought like this as she had brown hair and hazel eyes.

The big family of Longoria lived on their ranch and earned their living by the agriculture. Eva's parents have inherited the considerable land grounds from their ancestors. However, their parents didn't get any profit from this. The parents couldn't give the higher education to all of their daughters, and only Eva was lucky to receive the education. The girl was an excellent pupil at the school, and she managed to enter Texas A&M University-Kingsville, where she chose the unusual faculty of Kinesiology (this discipline studies the muscular movements, and it's more often taught in the sports educational institutions). Eva Longoria has even succeeded in receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology.

Though, the future actress didn't want to continue like this: the girl was thinking about show business. The girl’s bright appearance and parameters (Eva is 157 cm tall and weighs 44 kilos) let her dream of the model's career. She sent the photos to the model agencies, but it hasn't given any result: Eva wasn't tall enough to be a model.

Being a student, Eva took part in one of the beauty pageants and managed to win the title, Ms.Corpus Christi. In a short time, the girl took part in the contest of talents in Los Angeles and again became the first. Eva Longoria was noticed and later was invited to perform the hysterical and capricious character of Isabella Braña Williams in the series The Young and the Restless. In this movie, the actress has been taking part for nearly three years, since 2001. But during this time the American actress didn't wait for the favor from her destiny. She was persistently looking for her next role. Eva has found her role in the series which was directed by Dick Wolf. The movie has received the title Dragnet.

At last, the persistence and constant improvement of the acting skills have led to the desired star role: Longoria has got the offer to perform in the top-rated series Desperate Housewives a character of Gabrielle Solis. In 2004 when the movie came out Eva has become famous overnight. The actress has gained an army of the admirers and also received the first prestigious Golden Globe Awards.

After the series, Desperate Housewives Eva Longoria's career has taken off quickly. In 2006 the movie actress received the invitation to perform one more star role in the picture The Sentinel. It is a detective thriller in which Michael Douglas and Kiefer Sutherland worked together with Eva. At once the new film project under the title Harsh Times followed The Sentinel. And again Eva Longoria worked together with the celebrities – Christian Bale and Freddy Rodríguez.

Eva’s promptly developing movie career contributed to her advance in the model industry. In 2003 Eva Longoria entered the list of "the most beautiful people" by the version of People en Espanol edition. The actress has topped the rate of "The hottest female celebrities" of Maxim magazine for two years – in 2005 and 2006. One of the perfumes is called in honor of Eva. Together with Victoria Beckham Longoria advertises the new mobile phone from LG company.

The successful actress and model is also engaged in the charity. In 2006 Longoria founded the Eva's Heroes organization which objective is to support sick children. Together with her colleague Kirsten Dunst, they raise money annually for the Mexican children's rehab centers. The American actress has her debut as a producer in the documentary about migrant children who are engaged in the agricultural sector in the U.S.

Personal life

Eva got acquainted with her first husband - the actor Tyler Christopher during the shootings in series General Hospital. But their joint life turned out not to be very happy, and after two years of the marriage in 2004 they broke up.

Eva's private life changed for the best in autumn in 2006 when she has engaged with the French basketball player Tony Parker. For their wedding, they have chosen the symbolical date – the 7th of July, 2007 (7/7/2007). Eva took the surname of his spouse. The couple has married in the Roman Catholic Church of the 12th century. This church is famous for the fact that there got married the French monarchs. But even this place of legends couldn't save their marriage. In January 2011 the couple divorced, and later Longoria returned her maiden name.

In December 2015 Eva announced that her new boyfriend – a Mexican businessman José Antonio Bastón, had proposed to her. The actress doesn’t have children.

The significant part of the admirers and TV viewers consider Eva one of the most seductive women. The American actress is known to be a face of French L'Oreal Paris company. Such reputation makes the Hollywood star look perfectly. The people around pay attention to the outfits in which Longoria appears in public. In spite of such an exciting presentation, Russian people have treated the product somewhat cautiously. This happened because the customers had left a significant number of negative reviews about the product on the official brand’s website, commenting on the release of the spray in the U.S.

In November 2016 there appeared the information that Eva Longoria had created a clothing line together with The Limited brand. They presented festive and casual dresses, blouses, T-shirts, skirts, and jackets. The elegant items appeared on the market not in the full collection, but partly. Eva tales efforts to become a successful designer. By the words of the actress, when she was working on the new fashion clothing line, she was inspired by the women whom she knew in real life.

"I think, many people will be surprised when they find out that I have learned to sew since childhood. I have sewed many dresses, skirts, blouses, trousers for my nieces and nephews" — the actress has said.

In 2017 the American tabloids began to discuss the celebrity’s personal life more and more often, as they assumed that the actress was pregnant. The photos of the actress with already noticeable tummy have appeared on Instagram. The 42-year-old Eve hasn’t commented on this information yet.
