Childhood and youth

Frenkie de Jong was born on May 12, 1997 in Gorinchem, a city in the Netherlands. He developed an interest in football from an early age and started playing for a local club called ASV Arkel. Later, he joined the youth academy of Willem II, where he honed his skills as a midfielder.
