He later returned to the screen with a role in the action-comedy film "Breathing Fire" (1991), in which he played a martial arts student who teams up with his brother to take on a gang of criminals. Quan also appeared in the 1992 comedy film "Encino Man", alongside Sean Astin and Brendan Fraser.

In addition to his acting work, Quan has also worked as a stunt coordinator and fight choreographer for several films and television shows. He provided stunts for the 2000 superhero film "X-Men" and worked as a fight coordinator for the television series "Martial Law" (1998-2000), among other projects.
