Kasdan gave the actor the role of a suicidal, but even in the final version of the film, it turned out that almost all the images with Costner were cut. But there was a final shot, which shows the "corpse" of Kevin, who committed a suicide.

Colleagues began to laugh at the beginning actor. Therefore, Lawrence Kasdan, in order to apologize, gave Kevin Costner the main role in the film "Silverado". In this film, famous Kevin Kline and Danny Glover also played. But they could not outshine Kevin. This film began Costner's triumphant journey to the "dream factory".

Wide popularity came to the former financier after the release of the films "A Gang Story" and "No Escape" in 1987. In 1988-1989, Kevin Costner played the main roles in the films "Bull Durham" and "The Field of Dreams". The hero of the actor is a retired military pilot, who falls in love with a married woman. These feelings are mutual, but the husband of the woman is the mafia boss. The love triangle turned into a military clash.

In 1991, Kevin Costner continued to conquer Hollywood, starring in the film "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves." The film was commercially successful. But it cannot even be compared with the triumph that happened after the film "The Bodyguard", where Costner acted as a producer, and also starred with Whitney Houston as the main character.
