The role of Jon Snow was the first screen role of Harington’s career. In a new interview to Sunday TODAY’s Willie Geist, just hours before the long-awaited premiere of the final season, the actor gave some interesting information about his life in a serial and after it.
At first Kit was asked by Willie to recap the first seven seasons of Game of Thrones in just 30 seconds or so. The Harington’s answer was: “There was one king, he died. Then there were multiple kings who fought to disrupt the ultimate king. The night king came and attacked Seven Kingdoms which forced the rest of those kings and remaining power imbalances to unite.”
Long before Harington became John Snow he was a boy growing up in London, he was the son of a playwright and a businessman. He was turned on to acting after seeing a performance of Waiting for Godot. He found it was so funny, he was so moving. Kit thought somewhere, at the age of 30, he wants to do that.
Kit said: “One of the big parts was Jon Snow. I remember reading it and going up for it, knowing somewhere inside me, that this was in the Canon of work I could do. He’s just that dogged warrior who gets knocked down and then picks himself back up.”
Kit Harington confessed to Willie Geist that he is satisfied with how finished his storyline and the storyline of Thrones but it’s impossible to satisfy everyone.
Talking about the future, Kit told about recent plays on “True West” and on “The West End”. It really reminded him of his love for theater, so he is going to do more of that.
Kit is very thankful to his character and tried to say some words of gratitude: “Thrones, it’s given me possibly my future family; it’s given me my wife; it’s given me friends for life,” he said. “It’s got a character I love, I will love, more than any other character I’ll ever play.” There isn’t a way of saying thank you to it enough,” he added. “There never will be and I think that comes back to the question of, ‘How do you feel now that it’s finishing?’ Well, there aren’t words to describe how I feel about it.”
Also Kit and Willie discussed the story of his meeting with his future wife Rose Leslie. They tried to divide the show and the home and are waiting for its end to build a strong family.
