Eilleen Regina Twain was born on August 28, 1965 is a Canadian country pop singer, songwriter and actress. Better known as Shania Twain, she is one of the best selling music artists of all time. The country pop legend's best songs include "That Don't Impress Me Much", "Man, I Feel Like a Woman'' and "You're Still the One".
Childhood and youth
The future country star hails from Windsor, Ontario. Her parents' names are Sharon and Clarence. They divorced when Shania was a baby. Twain also has two sisters and two stepbrothers. She was raised by her mother and stepfather, who tragically died in a car crash when the singer was in her early twenties. After the incident, Shania paused her career to take care of her younger siblings.
Music career
Twain has been passionate about music since her childhood, and by the age of eight, she had already started performing in clubs and earned her first income. The singer eventually moved to Toronto, where she continued to sing in clubs and was noticed by American country producer Norro Wilson. Shania traveled to Nashville, Tennessee, where she recorded her debut self-titled album. In 1983, the singer married South African rock producer Mutt Lange. The couple welcomed their son seven years after the wedding. In 2010, Twain went through a scandalous divorce after she found out her husband had been cheating on her with her best friend. Shortly after the divorce was finalized, she married Frédéric Thiébaud, the former husband of Shania's best friend. They remain together to this day.
