Adwoa Aboah is a beautiful fashion model with an extraordinary appearance. She has been on the covers of the most popular magazines. In the past, Adwoa suffered depression and had problems with drugs; that is why she decided to share her way of returning to a good life with others.

Childhood and youth

The model was born in Westminster, London, England. Her parents, father Charles Aboah and mother Camilla Lowther, work in the fashion industry. Her dad was born and raised in Ghana and emigrated to England. Adwoa was proud to visit the place where her father was born. Adwoa art-directed the shoot and cast her friend British model Sonny Hall to feature alongside her in the campaign, shot on location around her family home in Accra, Ghana.

Adwoa has a sister Kesewa, she is a model, too. After studying at Millfield, in 2013, Aboah got an education at Brunel University. She finished it with a bachelor's degree in Modern Drama.

Modeling career

The woman has a huge experience in modeling. She participated in numerous campaigns and shootings, including working with such brands as Calvin Klein, Dior, Fendi, H&M, Topshop, and many others.

The model also appeared in another role. In 2017, she starred in the Hollywood adaptation of the Japanese manga Ghost in the Shell. With her role of Lia, Adwoa demonstrated good acting skills. After her success in modeling and acting, she was named British GQ's “Woman of the Year” for 2017.

Next year, the model starred in the commercial for Revlon's PhotoReady Insta-Filter™ Foundation.

In 2017, the model was on the cover of the publication for Edward Enninful's first issue as the new editor-in-chief. Adwoa was surprised that the magazine was "so vanilla". She felt excited after being featured on the cover following its publication. She thought that the magazine preferred to work with models of a particular category.

Personal life

Adwoa is an active user of social media. There are over 800,000 followers on her Instagram account. She shared her story with the audience, how she has suffered from depression and drug addiction. She said that she did drugs at a young age of 13 to depression. It led to the suicide attempt in 2015. She had to recover at a rehab center in London. Recently, as part of the therapeutic process, she and her mother made a powerful film about the experience, and about the challenges of communication about mental health even within a loving family.

Aboah took part in a project along with pole dancers to explore how the girls embrace their sexuality, why they have chosen this career, and to speak about pole dancing.

Adwoa is known to be good friends with Cara Delevingne. According to the models, they have known each other since they started modeling. Adwoa said that she respects the relations like this: when people expect nothing from each other, they are just friends.

Aboah is more than a model — she’s an activist. In 2015, the model founded her own charity project named Gurls Talk as an Instagram account. Her main goal is to talk about her problems with honesty and help other girls.
