Karine Jean-Pierre was born on August 13, 1974, in Martinique, an island in the Caribbean. Political career

Jean-Pierre began her career in politics as an intern for former New York City Mayor David Dinkins. She later went on to serve as the Southeast Regional Political Director for the Obama for America campaign in 2012, and subsequently served as the Deputy Battleground States Director for the same campaign. She also worked on the campaigns of Martin O'Malley and Kamala Harris.

In addition to her work on political campaigns, Jean-Pierre has worked as a political analyst and commentator. She has provided political analysis for a range of news organizations, including NBC News, MSNBC, CNN, and PBS. Jean-Pierre also served as the Chief Public Affairs Officer for MoveOn.org, a progressive public policy advocacy organization.
