    Li Lykke was born in Sweden in 1986. She was raised in the creative family: her mother, Kärsti Stiege, was interested in photography, and her father, Johan Zachrisson, is a member of the group called Dag Vag. When Li was six, she and her parents moved to Portugal, where they lived at the top of a mountain for five years. Besides, Lykke’s family has lived in Morocco, Nepal, India. At the age of nineteen, Lykke resided in Brooklyn for a small amount of time, and two years later she returned there to record the album. By the way, Michael Jackson was the one who became the inspiration for the singer.

    Music career

    In 2007, Lykke released her first EP titled Little Bit. The online music magazine Stereogum called the artist as the one to watch in October 2007. Next year, the first album, Youth Novels, produced by Björn Yttling, was released. It was a breakthrough, and after this, Lykke performed on Later... with Jools Holland, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, at the festivals like Glastonbury and Coachella.

    The singer started collaborating with various artists. In 2008, Lykke worked with Kleerup on the album titled after his stage name, and in 2009, she appeared on Röyksopp’s album, Junior. Besides, Li’s songs I'm Good, I'm Gone, and Possibility were featured in the 2009 movies Sorority Row and The Twilight Saga: New Moon respectively.

    The song Get Some, included in the second album, was used in several series like Hawaii Five-0, Pretty Little Liars, and The Vampire Diaries. In 2011, the Wounded Rhymes was released. That year, Lykke performed at the Latitude Festival in England. In 2013, the singer appeared on David Lynch's second album The Big Dream, in the song I'm Waiting Here.

    The 2014 year was full of new Lykke’s music videos: she released videos for Love Me Like I'm Not Made of Stone, No Rest for the Wicked, and Gunshot. Also in 2014, Li’s third album I Never Learn was released. On the Billboard 200, it was on the 29th place. The singer also made her debut in acting when appeared in the Swedish film Tommy (2014), for which she wrote a song, Du är den ende, and worked with the band U2 on their album Songs of Innocence.

    In 2014, Lykke performed at London's Eventim Apollo with a cover of Drake's single Hold On, We're Going Home. In 2018, the next album by Li, So Sad So Sexy, got released. A year later, she created the EP Still Sad Still Sexy which included remixes from the previous album. Also in 2019, Lykke appeared in the song and its video Late Night Feelings of Mark Ronson.

As we know, the couple broke up, and Lykke raises her son on her own. Three weeks after the birth of Dion, Lykke found out about her mother’s brain cancer. In July 2016, Kärsti died.
