Everybody who is interested in celebrity news knows Kris Jenner: the leader of the Kardashians family, successful businesswoman, socialite, TV star, and one of the top newsmakers for tabloids. The woman believes that her six children (who are more famous than Kris herself) are her major achievement. Childhood and youth

Kristen Mary Houghton was born on November 5, 1955, in San Diego, California. Her mother, Mary Jo Campbell, was a housewife, and the father, Robert True Houghton, worked as an airline engineer.

Soon Kris’s sister Karen was born. When the elder girl turned seven, the parents divorced. The mother sold the family house in San Diego and moved to Claremont where Kris went to the elementary school. The next year, the child got seriously ill: she was diagnosed with a malignant tumor in her leg. Fortunately, the timely surgery and therapy cured the girl.

Several years later, Mary married again: the businessman Harry Shannon became her husband. The man moved his family to Oxnard. Suddenly, his business partner fled and took all the money – the family had nothing to do but go back to San Diego where Mary had some connections.

In 1973, Kris graduated from school and entered a college. However, the young woman did not like to study: she wanted to be a caring wife and mother. Kristen realized that she was attractive: her Scottish, Dutch, German, and Irish roots brought her unique beauty. Kris believed that a successful marriage was the most significant issue; soon, she started making her matrimonial dreams come true.

Personal life

After the woman graduated from the college, she got hired as a stewardess in a local airline company. She met a handsome brunette during a flight: ethnically Armenian, Robert was a third-generation American. He had worked as a lawyer for ten years and earned a J.D. degree.

Kris and Robert started dating. The couple married on July 8, 1978, and lived in a luxurious house in Beverly Hills. Their first child, Kourtney Kardashian, was born on April 18, 1979. The daughters Kim and Khloé were born on October 21, 1980, and June 27, 1984. Finally, the long-awaited boy, Robert Jr., was born on March 17, 1987.

Kris and Robert spent 12 years together and divorced in 1991. The man initiated the break-up: he caught his wife with her young lover, Todd Waterman. The divorce was long: the spouses could not divide their assets and identify the sum that the woman accused to the best wanted for the children and herself. However, Kris and Robert made amends later and remained good friends until the man died of esophageal cancer in 2003.

Kris could not tolerate failures in her personal life. Soon after the divorce, she married an athlete and Olympic champion Bruce Jenner; they used to flirt before Kris’s first marriage. By the time the couple became close, each of them had had four children; Bruce had been married twice. In this marriage, two children were born: Kendall (November 3, 1995) and Kylie (August 10, 1997).

Kris became Bruce’s manager: she represented his interests in the family business and promoted him as a race car driver. The spouses spent almost 23 years together. In June 2013, the media announced that Bruce and Kris began to live separately; in December 2014, they divorced.

The cause of the break-up got evident soon: in 2015, Bruce had a gender reassignment surgery and took a new name, Caitlyn Jenner.

In 2014, the TV star had a romance with Corey Gamble, a music media company employee; he was 26 years younger than the woman.

At the beginning of 2018, the Internet learned the news about the couple’s break-up; according to the media, Kris wanted to concentrate on family business.

Career and television

In 2007, the producer Ryan Seacrest offered Kris and her children to launch a reality show. He counted on their popularity: Kris and her daughters’ names frequently appeared in tabloids.

It was the right decision. Keeping Up with the Kardashians proved to be successful. The family members lived their normal lives: felt happy or sad, suffered, worried, and had conflicts while millions of the Americans watched them. One can hardly overestimate the popularity brought by the show.

Soon, each Kardashian started their own TV project. The series Kourtney & Khloé Take Miami, Kourtney & Kim Take New York, and other series came out. Khloé Kardashian and her then husband, the basketball player Lamar Odom, appeared in the series Khloé & Lamar. Kris’s son, Rob, and his fiancée Blac Chyna who never married him participated in the reality show Rob & Chyna. Just like their siblings, the models Kylie and Kendall Jenner organized their own TV show.

In 2013, Kris Jenner debuted in her own daytime talk-show. However, the program did not attract much audience and was closed. The woman tried herself as a writer: in 2011, she presented her autobiography Kris Jenner... and All Things Kardashian; 2014 was marked with the cookery book In the Kitchen with Kris: A Kollection of Kardashian-Jenner Family Favorites.

The name of the Kardashians became a brand; Kris became its manager. Besides, she is a producer of her children’s projects. The family franchise includes clothing, makeup, and perfume companies.

As the leader of the colossal empire, Kris remembers she must look perfect. The woman does not keep secret that she had plastic surgery, and she also likes sports; Kris looks beautiful in a swimsuit. The celebrity has the same haircut as she used to in her youth; her style is always elegant. Kris Jenner likes to take pictures of herself and posts new photos on Instagram almost every day.

Present days

Nowadays, Kris is a successful businesswoman whose life is full of work. However, she never misses a party and sometimes appears in movies and series and plays herself.

Kris lives in a luxurious house not far from the second daughter. Rumors have it that the mother loves Kim Kardashian a little more than other children.
