    Tim McGraw's birthday is May 1, 1967. He was born in Delhi, Louisiana, to the family of a popular baseball pitcher Frank Edwin McGraw Jr. and Elizabeth Ann. Tim's dad played in the minor leagues for several teams, while his mom was a waitress in a local restaurant. Tim was the only kid in the family.

    Shortly after Tim's birth, Frank and Elizabeth parted ways, and the latter found a partner - Horace Smith. Till the age of 11, Tim McGraw didn’t know who was his biological father. Later he discovered a certificate upon which he confronted his mother, and hence, he became aware of his real father's identity. Initially, his real dad didn't recognize his fatherhood. Once, when Tim was 18, the two met and became surprisingly close.

    As a high school student, Tim McGraw was interested in basketball. When he was 18, he entered Northeast Louisiana University. There he got admission on a baseball scholarship.
