Andrew Russell Garfield is a British-American actor, known for his leading role as Spider-Man in a blockbuster of the same name. Andrew was nominated for Oscar for his work in the movie Hacksaw Ridge.

The boy was born on August 20, 1983, in the Anglo-American family of the Garfields. He was named Andrew Russell. The first three years of his life he spent in California, USA. His father worked as a swimming coach, and his mother was a teaching assistant at a nursery school. In 1986, Andrew's parents moved to England with their son. The actor is Jewish by nationality. The boy's ancestors emigrated to America from Russia, Romania, and Poland. Initially, the surname was Garfinkel, but Andrew's paternal grandfather changed it to Garfield.

The boy studied at schools in London and Banstead. As a child, he was not interested in any comics, no theater, no cinema. And how could the boy find such hobbies if the family was far from creativity? The Garfield's had a small business and engaged in finishing work on the premises.

At the age of 15, Andrew began to comprehend acting and performing in amateur performances. Then he attended the Central School of Speech and Drama, which he successfully graduated in 2004. The Amazing Spider-Man also brought changes to Andrew Garfield's personal life. The actor broke up with his girlfriend, Shannon Woodward. They were in relationships for almost four years. Andrew explained the breakup with an intense filming schedule, but the actor actually met another girl.

Garfield first saw Emma Stone at the audition and realized that there was a spark between them. The actor admitted that Emma worried and excited him. Young people quickly got along and had fun in between shots. Over time, a fun pastime has grown into a passionate affair.
